Free Chick-fil-A: Every Freebie in 2026
Free food at Chick-fil-A mostly runs through the free Chick-fil-A One app: a birthday treat for every member, and a free chicken sandwich when your receipt or the app invites you to take a short survey. Dress like a cow and there's a free entrée too, on Cow Appreciation Day in July (back in 2026 for the first time since 2019) or on a new restaurant's opening day.
On now
Nothing from Chick-fil-A is live this week. The yearly offers below come back on their dates.

Birthday treat
Your birthday
A free sweet treat in the app on your birthday. What it is depends on your tier; Chick-fil-A only calls it "something sweet, on us."
How: Join Chick-fil-A One (free) and add your birthday to your account, then check the Rewards tab in the app on the day.
- Anytime
Free sandwich for a survey
Any time, when your receipt or the app invites you
Restaurants may offer a free Chicken Sandwich for completing the customer experience survey on your receipt or in the app. Not every receipt has one, and it can't be swapped for something else.
How: Look for a survey code at the bottom of your receipt (enter it on the My CFA Visit site) or an invitation under "For You" in the app. Not every receipt has one, and the offer has an expiration date.
- Anytime
Free entrée at a new restaurant opening
Opening day of a new restaurant near you
One free entrée for anyone in cow spots on a new restaurant's opening day: a Chicken Biscuit, Egg White Grill or 4-count Chick-n-Minis at breakfast; a Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, 8-count Grilled Nuggets, 8-count Nuggets or a 5-count Nugget Kid's Meal later.
How: Show up on opening day wearing cow spots. One entrée per person, while supplies last.

Cow Appreciation Day
July 14 (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in 2026). It returned in 2026 for the 80th anniversary after skipping 2020-2025, so a repeat isn't certain.
One free entrée for anyone dressed like a cow. In 2026: a Chicken Biscuit or 4-count Chick-n-Minis at breakfast, or a Chicken Sandwich, 8-count nuggets or 3-count Chick-n-Strips later; kids 12 and under got an entrée and a prize. The 2026 one is over and Chick-fil-A hasn't said whether it returns in 2027.
How: Go in person in cow-themed clothes: dine-in, carry-out or drive-thru. App and delivery orders don't count.
Get the most from Chick-fil-A
- Add your birthday to your Chick-fil-A One account ahead of time; the treat shows up in the Rewards tab on the day.
- Check the bottom of your receipt for a survey code: a few minutes of questions can get you a free chicken sandwich.
- Ordered in the restaurant without the app? Scan your receipt in the app afterward to get the points (10 per $1; rewards start at 200 points).
- Restaurants are closed on Sundays, so plan free-food runs for other days.

Questions about free Chick-fil-A
Does Chick-fil-A give you something free on your birthday in 2026?
Yes, if you're in Chick-fil-A One (free) with your birthday saved: a sweet treat in the Rewards tab of the app. What you get depends on your membership tier.
How do you get a free Chick-fil-A sandwich?
Take the customer experience survey when your receipt or the app invites you to; completing it earns a free Original or Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Not every receipt has the invitation, and the offer expires.
Is Cow Appreciation Day still happening?
It came back on July 14, 2026, for Chick-fil-A's 80th anniversary, after skipping 2020 to 2025: dress like a cow, get a free entrée in person. Whether it returns next year hasn't been announced. New restaurants also give a free entrée to anyone in cow spots on opening day.
