Free formula samples

Checked October 2026 Β· 3 brand programs Β· 5 other ways

The three big formula brands run free programs that can send samples, and two of them add coupons worth far more than the samples. Here's what each one sends, how to sign up, and the catch.

Brand programs

Enfamil Family Beginnings

What you get: Formula samples (Enfamil says you "may be eligible"), checks that work like formula coupons at most big stores, cash-back rebates on Enfamil purchases, and a sweepstakes entry. Enfamil puts the total at up to $400 in savings.

How: Sign up on Enfamil's site with your name, email and due date or baby's birth date. Free.

The catch: Most of the value is coupons and rebates for formula you buy. Expect marketing email.

MySimilac Rewards

What you get: Formula samples in a welcome kit for new members, plus coupons and points you earn by scanning Similac cans.

How: Sign up free at similac.com (Coupons & Samples).

The catch: Similac says samples are while supplies last for new members, and shipping fees may apply.

MyGerber

What you get: Gerber formula samples and offers when they're available.

How: Join MyGerber for free and tick the box asking for infant formula samples and offers.

Other ways to get free formula

  • WIC If your household qualifies, WIC covers infant formula every month, not just a sample. Most states let you apply online or by phone.
  • Your pediatrician or OB Doctors' offices get formula samples from the brands. Ask at a visit, especially if you're trying a new formula.
  • The hospital Many hospitals send families home with a few ready-to-feed bottles. Ask the nurses before you leave.
  • Baby registry welcome boxes Amazon, Target and Babylist welcome boxes sometimes include a formula sample. What's inside changes, so treat it as a bonus.
  • Formula and diaper banks If you're short on formula, call 211 or a local diaper bank. Many can hand out formula or point you to a pantry that has it.

Safety first: use samples from the brand, your doctor or the hospital, check the use-by date, never make formula at home, and ask your pediatrician before switching formulas.

Questions about free formula

Which formula brands give free samples?

Enfamil (Family Beginnings), Similac (MySimilac Rewards) and Gerber (MyGerber) all have free programs that can send formula samples. Enfamil and Similac also send coupons and checks. Gerber doesn't promise a sample to everyone.

How do I get free Enfamil samples for a newborn?

Join Enfamil Family Beginnings with your due date or your baby's birth date. Enfamil says members may be eligible for formula samples, and they also get checks that work like coupons and rebates on Enfamil purchases.

Is free formula safe to use?

Samples straight from the brand, your doctor or the hospital are fine. Check the use-by date, don't buy "free sample" cans from resale sites, never make formula at home, and talk to your pediatrician before switching formulas.

Can I get free formula if money is tight?

Yes. WIC covers infant formula for families who qualify, and 211 or a local diaper bank can connect you with formula right away.
