Paper Shredding at Portland Office Depot and OfficeMax
Portland-area Office Depot and OfficeMax stores are reported to shred sensitive documents at no charge. Call your nearest store before you go, since days and per-visit paper limits aren't listed. Both chains usually charge for shredding by the pound, so confirm it's free at that location before you haul in a box. No end date is given.
Free Entry to Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles
You can walk through the exhibits, look through the public telescopes, and take in the city views without paying admission. There's no signup or ticket needed for the grounds and main building. Parking is the real hurdle, since the lots fill up fast, so the shuttle or a rideshare is easier. Hours vary by day, so confirm them before you go.
