There are multiple types of mobile coupons. And in this series, we've mostly covered getting free stuff and deals at local grocery stores and drug stores. But, you should still know about another type of coupon that's still up and coming, mobile coupons. Mobile coupons are coupons that work on your cell phone, through text messaging or in an app.

Text message coupons work by giving the provider your cell phone number or texting a certain number with a certain code to subscribe. Once you're subscribed. you'll get text messages alerting you to deals at stores you've requested coupons from.

Text message coupons:

  • Shop Text – Give them your information and ShopText will send you relevant coupons and samples
  • Scout Mob – Scout Mob is really cool. It's similar to Groupon, but you don't have to buy anything. Check it out.
  • Walgreens – Even more ways to save at Walgreens besides just manufacturers and store coupons
  • Bed Bath & Beyond – Get on the list for future mobile coupons and 20% off certificates by mail
  • Bath & Body Works – Receive deals for free items with purchase and percentage off coupons via text
  • JCPenney – This is a new program that JCPenney is offering
  • ampm convenience stores – Get free stuff and deals when you make purchases at ampm by text

 
In app coupons:
Target Mobile Coupons – These are new a new form of Target coupons to save you even more money!
Foursquare – Download this app and check-in with your location to get deals from local retailers
Yowza – This app has coupons you can redeem at nearby major retail stores
Groupon – Groupon has an app where you can easily purchase and redeem hot deals in your neighborhood
