Green shopping bag isolated on white background

I know the green revolution of bringing your own bags on shopping excursions hasn’t hit some of you hippie resistant folks, but there’s another great reason to BYOB now! You’ll not only help save the earth, but you’ll also conserve your hard earned money.

Target will give you $0.05 off per bag used (must be a reusable bag purchased at Target)

CVS will give you $1 ECB for every 4th visit (Which breaks down to $0.25 visit) – To get this deal, you must buy a green tag for your reusable bag. The green tag costs $1.00.

Whole Foods will give you $0.05-0.10 (depending on the location) off for every reusable bag used during purchase. They don’t have to be Whole Foods bags in order to qualify. They also sell sturdy bags for $0.99 each.

Safeway will give you a $0.03 credit for every bag filled, according to some reports

Kroger takes $0.03-0.05 cents off per bag filled (depending on where you live)

Winco will give you a whooping $0.10 for every bag used

Fred Meyer will give you a $0.05 credit for every bag used

Where else can you save money or get a reward for using your own bag?

Aldi is a grocery store that doesn’t give shoppers free bags. So, you’re left with the option to bring your own or buy theirs for either a nickel or a dime apiece. I don’t look at bringing my own bags as an inconvenience for the incredible savings I get at Aldi.

In my area of the country, customers can bring their own bags to Bi-Lo grocery store. They give a .05 cent credit for each bag you bring. I now have several nice cloth bags from various stores, and I always try to keep them on hand in my vehicle for every shopping trip.

Stop and Shop gives 5 cents credit for each reusable bag you use does not have to be theirs.

Does the reusable bag have to be purchased from Kroger to get the credit or can you bring your own reusable bag because I have several reusable bags . I also know that Kroger has their own bags that they sell for a dollar. On a totally unrealated subject. Eva, any reusable bag is acceptable regardless of its design or brand. For e-mail subscription – check your inbox for a confirmation email! : )

Actually, Target gives 5 cents off of every reusable bag used. It can be a reusable bag from Wal Mart, Publix, or any place at all. It’s a great idea.

My fiance works for Microsoft and they are always giving him tons of free stuff. He got a ton of black bags with their logo and they had been sitting around for months. I loaded them up and took them to the store and they gave me full credit. I think it matters more who your checker is and how friendly they are. They don’t have to give me full credit because they aren’t “farm fresh” bags but they do anyway because I pick checkers that know me from previous shopping trips.
